Disaster Preparedness Plan |
|||||
| In our community, it is possible for a major
disaster to occur at any time. Of particular concern in the Manhattan Beach community
is the fact that a great number of parents commute to work in the L.A. area. In the
event of a disaster, it is possible that many parents would not be able to return
home in those crucial first hours. If the parents are not able to reach the Child
Care, we will care for the children here, and we will be in communication with various
local emergency services. We do ask for the parents' help in these areas: Please do not call the Child Care - we must have the lines open for emergency calls Please tune your radio in to KMAH, 89.1 FM - information and directions will be provided. Please bring the following items for your Child Emergency Pack: 1) A change of clothes and one blanket; 2) Six disposable diapers; 3) Two small cans of soybean formula (Prosobee or the like); ready to feed; 4) One plastic bottle of apple juice; 5) One large box of baby-wipes. These items will be stored at the Child Care and, from time to time, be checked for sizes, due to the fact that the infants grow so quickly. |
